Intern Policies

The following details outline intern policies for Rise Up Academics. This is not intended to be a all-encompassing List, however, contains the basic concepts and understanding for appropriate behavior and interactions. Any question should be directed to leadership.

Conduct Policy: Rise Up Academics maintains a zero-tolerance stance on harassment and discrimination; all interns are expected to treat others with respect and dignity, and any behavior that undermines a safe, inclusive, and equitable environment will result in immediate review and disciplinary action, up to and including removal from the program. This includes communication OUTSIDE our ecosystem, I.E. social media, etc.

Dress Code Policy: At Rise Up Academics, we follow a common-sense approach to attire: if you have to ask whether something is appropriate to wear, it likely isn’t. Interns are expected to dress in at least business casual when interacting with clients, and should adapt their attire to suit the environment—such as modest, school-appropriate clothing when working with young children on-site.

Privacy and communication policy: To ensure the protection of client data and uphold internal security standards, all communications must occur exclusively within Rise Up Academics’ Microsoft ecosystem. This includes the use of Microsoft Teams for messaging and calls, corporate email for correspondence, and other approved Microsoft functionalities. Interns are strictly prohibited from exporting, sharing, or discussing individual client information outside of these channels. All client data remains the sole property of the client and must be handled with the highest level of confidentiality and care. This also covers posting internal details on social media.

Attendance Policy: Interns will advise of scheduled absences through creating a TEAMs calendar invite for Luke, Carrie, and Sarah Brown, their core team members assigned to the same client, and their client contact. This will be set for 6am to 6am as a place holder, with the subject 'Student Name - OOO'.

Unscheduled absences will warrant a simple TEAMs message in their core team's channel. Let the team/client know you will not be in that day.

In either case, no explanation is necessary. Feel free to add details as you see fit. Example: "Team, I will be OOO today due to illness."

Ethics Policy: All interns are expected to uphold the highest standards of academic and professional integrity. Ethical violations, including falsifying data or misrepresenting work, are strictly prohibited and will be investigated in good faith with zero tolerance for retaliation. While AI tools may be used to support learning and productivity, they must not replace original thinking; all sources must be properly cited, and client trust must be preserved at all times.
